Week In Review: Friday, January 8, 2009

8 January 2010 757 views 2 Comments

Every Friday I’ll be posting a digest of my favorite blog posts from all corners of the internet, along with my #FollowFriday Twitter list and other points of interest that I’ve collected throughout the week.  If you have a particularly good blog post or think there’s something special out there that should be included for next week, feel free to email me at amanda@upspringbaby.com.

From the Blogosphere

The Meanest Mom gets schooled about what it means to really be needy during a recent shopping trip at Target.

Problogger has 30 Bloggers to Watch in 2010.  (Why am I not on that list?)

Geekweek writes a scathing response to the trivialization of the women of twitter that Vanity Fair had in a recent issue.

Social Media Explorer had a fascinating piece about measuring engagement with social media. The comments are as good as the post itself.

Growing Your Baby reports on the proposed Taiwanese bill to protect breastfeeding in public places.

Babyrambles has painstakingly created a series of graphs that demonstrate how she spends her time as a mom.

Speaking of graphs, I also found this most excellent flowchart entitled, The Procrastination Loop.

Upspring Featured

TradeMe featured Milkscreen on their New Zeland based site.

Mommy Loves Giveaways also featured Milkscreen and is giving away a box to one lucky reader.

DadLabs interviewed one of our founders, Julie Jumonville in a video about our newest product Shrinkx Hips.

Mamaista has featured Shrinkx Hips on her popular site, too!

Quote of the Week

Found at The Motherwear Breastfeeding Blog:

“I was hormonal from pregnancy – a month and a half from birth. So I was ultra-sensitive and not as confident as I usually am.” It’s not just lack of sleep either, she says. “As a mother, your body is not your own. Here I am – breastfeeding, breastfeeding, (then acting with] George, breastfeeding, breastfeeding, George… so it was a very emotional experience.” - Actress Vera Farmiga on her work on the new film Up In The Air.

News from UpSpring Retailers:

Mom4Life is offering her customers 10% off their order through January 10th, with the code: 2010 at checkout.  She’s also giving away two Ritzy Bitzy bottle bibs to a lucky reader.

Thanks for including my Problogger post.

Actually, a lot of my friends were upset at not being on the list. I am doing a follow up one. If you want to be included, contact me via the email I used to comment with the reasons why. I’d prefer that others tell me what is awesome rather than me come to a rushed conclusion. (its gonna be a big post)
