We were so excited to see our friend and fellow blogger Tom Riles of Life of Dad featured last week on the Ellen DeGeneres show!
Tom and his lovely wife Lucy had a baby girl named Barbara Ann this past March.  Barbara Ann was born with a heart condition that required immediate open-heart surgery.  Ellen told their story on her show this past Friday and then surprised the couple with some jaw-dropping gifts.

A couple months ago I wrote about an exciting new book series written by Jacqui Taub called The Waussies.  Inspired by her interactions with her grandchildren as well as her years of parenting her own children while living in Austrailia, The Waussies (Wacky Aussies) are quirky little characters that teach kids important lessons about life, manners, and relationships in a fun, energetic way.

Tommy Riles is a lot of really cool things:  he’s a writer, a stand-up comedian, an emcee who works on the Ellen show and…he’s a dad.
His baby girl, Barbara Anne was born this past March and Riles has not only fallen head-over-heels in love with her, he has also been inspired to start a blog about his experiences in fatherhood.  Combining wit and sentimentality is a hard job but he’s up to the task.
