This past week I heard a story on the morning news about a female reporter who is having her baby in Iraq while covering the war.  You can hear the story and read the transcript here.

You’ve seen the commercials offering a reading system designed to teach babies how to read–often long before they can walk or even talk.  This fascinating article I found this week discusses the topic:  “Can a Child Be Too Young To Learn To Read?” and discusses the benefits of actually prolonging the age of learning to read past when most public schools in the U.S. begin teaching it.
