I’m curious to know if you think it is irresponsible for civilian women who are working in war zones to stay on the job during and after their pregnancies. Vote now!

You’ve seen the commercials offering a reading system designed to teach babies how to read–often long before they can walk or even talk. This fascinating article I found this week discusses the topic: “Can a Child Be Too Young To Learn To Read?” and discusses the benefits of actually prolonging the age of learning to read past when most public schools in the U.S. begin teaching it.
What do you think?

Extended breast feeding is technically any nursing done after your baby is one year of age. Some women choose to continue breast feeding their child for several years, which has sparked its own controversy. This week’s poll is about how long you feel comfortable with the idea of breastfeeding a baby:

A new study published this week points to a link between spanking and aggressive behavior in children:
A new study published in the May issue of the journal Pediatrics suggests that kids who were spanked more than twice a month as 3-year-olds were much more likely to become aggressive 5-year-olds than kids who weren’t disciplined that way. Full article here.
This week’s poll: Do you agree that spanking as punishment makes children more aggressive?
